Chatha Pacha Movie Review – A Do-or-Die Wrestling Entertainer | Notes By Vibhu

Brief Review — Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies

Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies (slang for “Do or Die”), marketed as Chatha Pacha, is a 2026 Indian Malayalam-language action-comedy directed by Adhvaith Nayar and written by Sanoop Thykoodam. The film follows three brothers who start a WWE-inspired underground wrestling promotion in Fort Kochi, blending brotherhood, rivalry, comedy, and high-energy action. The movie stars Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath, with strong supporting performances by Siddique and Lakshmi Menon. Music by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy adds powerful energy to the film. Released on 22 January 2026, the film received mixed-to-positive reviews and became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2026.

From an entertainment perspective, the film is a full package of comedy, action, and drama. The emotional core lies in the bond between the three brothers, whose childhood rivalry and family legacy are cleverly manipulated by Cherian Maani, creating intense conflicts. One of the most exciting highlights is the comeback of Bullet Walter Lopez near the climax, which lifts the energy of the film dramatically.

The story also shows how, after growing up, Savio Lobo and Little Lobo begin costume wrestling and start their own ring with a friend — a fun and unique track that keeps the audience engaged. The wrestling sequences feel lively and theatrical, successfully capturing the spirit of WWE-style entertainment.

However, the film has a minor drawback: Vetri Lobo’s love life and his relationship with his wife were not explored deeply, which could have added stronger emotional depth.

Ratings:

Overall, despite a few storytelling gaps, Chatha Pacha succeeds as a stylish, energetic, and highly entertaining action-comedy that celebrates brotherhood, nostalgia, and the larger-than-life world of wrestling.
