The Night Agent Season 3 (Netflix) Review: Political Thriller Gets Darker | Notes by Vibhu
The Night Agent Season 3 – Episode-Wise Review
The third season of The Night Agent delivers one of the most intense political thrillers released in March. The story once again follows Night Action agent Peter Sutherland, who uncovers a massive international conspiracy involving terrorism, corrupt officials, and hidden political agendas inside the U.S. government.
Season 3 expands the story globally—from Istanbul to Washington, D.C.—while introducing new characters and a deeper conspiracy connected to President Richard Hagan.
Episode 1 – Call Waiting
The season begins with Peter being sent to Istanbul to bring back FinCEN analyst Jay Batra, who is suspected of murdering his boss and leaking classified financial data.
In Istanbul, Peter meets journalist Isabel De Leon, who has already received secret financial leaks from Jay. The leaks reveal suspicious financial transfers from American companies into a crypto wallet connected to a terrorist group called La Fuerza de La SoberanÃa (LFS).
Meanwhile, a shocking tragedy occurs when Flight Pima 12 is shot down over Venezuela, killing 157 Americans. The President blames a terrorist leader named Raul Zapata.
Peter realizes something terrifying — the attack may have been funded by money coming from inside the United States.
The episode ends with Peter extracting Jay from Turkey while a mysterious figure named Monroe demands Jay be handed over to him.
Review:
A strong opening episode that sets up the global conspiracy and introduces multiple new mysteries.
Episode 2 – Package Deal
Back in the U.S., Peter informs officials that a powerful financier named Monroe may have secretly funded the Pima 12 attack through shell companies.
Peter attempts to exchange Jay with Monroe in order to get the names of corrupt agents working inside government agencies. But Monroe anticipates the betrayal and detonates a bomb that kills Catherine during the operation.
Monroe escapes with Jay and demands Peter obey him from now on.
Review:
A tense and emotional episode that raises the stakes dramatically.
Episode 3 – Dark Matters
Journalist Isabel and her editor Mike Fonseca investigate the financial transfers and discover suspicious reports filed by a former banking officer.
Their investigation leads to a veterans charity called Heroes In Healing, which may be laundering money connected to LFS.
However, Mike is assassinated by a mysterious killer known only as “The Father.”
Review:
The series expands the conspiracy while introducing one of the season’s most dangerous villains.
Episode 4 – Orion
Peter begins working with Isabel to uncover the truth behind the financial network.
They discover that Senator George Lansing has received dark money donations connected to the same funding network.
During a tense meeting at a hunting lodge, Lansing tries to kill Isabel after realizing she knows too much. Before he can reveal everything, The Father assassinates him.
Review:
This episode blends political thriller elements with high-stakes action.
Episode 5 – The Isolation Play
Peter gets a new Night Action partner named Adam Corrigan, but he quickly begins to suspect Adam may not be trustworthy.
Meanwhile, new financial transfers appear in the LFS crypto wallet, suggesting another attack is coming.
Isabel continues investigating shell companies, unaware that the powerful financier Monroe is actually her estranged father.
Review:
The episode deepens the emotional storyline and introduces family secrets.
Episode 6 – Murky Waters
Peter and Adam follow Monroe to a mansion where Isabel confronts him.
She accuses him of kidnapping Jay and financing terrorism. Monroe denies some accusations but admits he controls a massive intelligence network.
Meanwhile, The Father launches another attack on the mansion.
Peter, Isabel, and Jay barely escape.
Review:
This episode delivers excellent suspense and shocking revelations.
Episode 7 – Once Upon a Time…
Through flashbacks, Monroe’s past is revealed.
In the 1990s he worked as a CIA informant in Mexico City, spying on arms trafficker Raul Zapata. Over time he learned to manipulate both sides and build a powerful blackmail network.
Peter eventually rescues Monroe from an assassination attempt, and Monroe gives him a mysterious cipher book containing secrets about corrupt politicians.
But before Peter can escape, The Father kidnaps him.
Review:
A fascinating backstory episode that explains Monroe’s motivations.
Episode 8 – Truth Be Told
Peter escapes captivity with help from The Father’s young son.
Meanwhile, evidence begins to connect the conspiracy directly to the White House.
President Hagan and First Lady Jenny appear increasingly suspicious as their past connections with Monroe begin to surface.
Review:
This episode shifts the conspiracy to the highest level of power.
Episode 9 – Lockstep
Peter and his allies discover a new terrorist plot involving truck bombs heading toward New York City.
They successfully stop the attack after tracing crypto transactions in New Jersey.
At the same time, Monroe’s secret database reveals shocking information linking the President and First Lady to illegal political funding.
Review:
One of the most thrilling episodes of the season with major action sequences.
Episode 10 – Razzmatazz
In the explosive finale, journalist Isabel exposes the entire conspiracy during a livestream interview with Freya Myers.
Freya confirms that Monroe, Walcott Capital, and political elites helped fund the terrorist organization.
Despite the scandal, President Hagan uses his power to pardon himself and his wife, avoiding prosecution.
In the final scene, Peter meets with Mosley, who promises him a new Night Action partner, setting up the next season.
Review:
A powerful finale that exposes corruption but also shows how power can protect those at the top.
